From one Aggie to Another

Dr. Uthoff and his sweet nurse Carolyn managed to get us an apointment with Dr. Brent New a Thorasic Cardiovascular Specialist in Cape Girardeau. As luck would have it he also was a Texas Aggie which immediately put Mark's mind at ease. He gave Mark a through examination and said our story was absolutely fascinating. Had this accident occured in the United States because the FDA has not approved the aortic graft that was used in Canada the surgeon's here would have had to cut him from spine to sturnum (quadrupling the chance of parpalegia).

Dr. New assured us that Mark is as healthy as can be expected and said we should use good old common sense about how quickly to progress into the main stream. He removed the pick line from Mark's left arm so now he can shower without press and seal plastic wrap. Yes! We have a follow up appointment in one month for additional some testing. We are still in a dangerous stage for contracting virus and pneumonia so we have to be cautious about where we go and how much we do.

Thank you all for everything.

Love,
Mark and Stephanie

Mark and family,

I am so happy with the progress you are making! I will continue to pray for your full recovery. I can not believe how well you are progressing. I was catching up on the last few blogs so this info is a little late but Transformers is a great movie for the family. I do not remeber the rating but I think there might be one or two bad words. (Not the really bad ones LOL) Shrek III is out on dvd now and believe it or not it is pretty funny. As for grown up movies Premonition (Sandra Bullock), The Family Stone (Diane Keaton, Luke wilson..) and The pursuit of happiness are all excellent. Ok enough rambling! I was just so thrilled to picture you home and watching movies!
Thinking of you,

Laura Jean
PS Just because you have been sick doesn't mean that I have forgiven you for pulling my hair (with your teeth) all those years ago!!! I still owe you! LOL

Mark and Stephanie:

It is wonderful to hear about all of the progress being made. What a blessing for everyone involved.

I keep hearing how inferior healthcare is in Canada but that must not be the case or Heavenly Father was just in this all the way. Mark you are a walking, talking miracle!

You all continue to be in everyone's prayers and we hope that you can get back to normal as soon as possible.

We are so thankful that you have your sweet family back together. I know Clayson is soooo glad to have his daddy home and Stephanie...I know you are so relieved. I just hope you are getting some much needed rest as well.

The boys will be over this weekend so that will be good and I am going to St. Louis to have some much needed fun with Ann Lewis and Karla Drysdale! Whoo hoo

Love,

Christina
